It’ the most frequently asked question “How can I remove deodorant stains from my clothes?”

Deodorant stains mostly appear as yellow and white spots on the underarms. Sometimes, they make the underarms look crunchy, while on darker fabrics – the areas with deodorant get darkened.

To be honest, underarm stains are the most stubborn and they are very difficult to remove, especially if the shirt has been dried after becoming stained. As deodorant stains are stubborn, they require a little work to be removed.

For removing deodorant stains from underarm, it’s the best method. For this, you will need some items i.e.

  • A good detergent i.e. Tide.
  • Clear Ammonia.
  • A toothbrush.
  • Pair of gloves to protect your hands.

You can use any detergent for this but it should be a good one like Tide. First, you will need to make a solution for which you will need 1 part detergent to 1 part Ammonia. Must wear gloves when you mix the solution otherwise you will end up burning your hands. 2-3 tablespoons of each ingredient is a perfect quantity for the solution as it will be good enough to cover all the underarms area of the shirt. For the perfect measurements, you can use the measuring cup that comes with a detergent.

For the second step, turn the shirt inside out and lay it flat on a thick white towel. You can use any colored towel but make sure it doesn’t bleed the color on your shirt. To avoid any risks, it’s recommended to use a clean white towel. Now pour a little amount of your detergent/ammonia solution onto the entire underarm area. Use a soft toothbrush to gently rub the solution on the entire underarm area. The toothbrush helps in lifting the shirt’s fibers and allows the penetration of the solution into the fabric.

After you’ve rubbed the solution with a toothbrush over the entire underarm area, let it rest for almost 25-30 minutes. After that, wash and dry the shirt just as you normally do, preferably in warm-hot water.
